SEC Registration
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the Philippines is the government body responsible for regulating and supervising the securities market in the country. Companies that are involved in the sale and distribution of securities are required to register with the SEC. This typically includes companies that are involved in public offerings, such as Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) and Secondary Public Offerings (SPOs). The registration process includes submitting detailed information about the company and its operations to the SEC, such as financial statements, corporate documents, and the names of the company’s directors. After the registration is complete, the SEC will issue a certificate of registration to the company. This certificate is required in order for the company to be able to offer its securities to the public. The SEC may also require that the company periodically submit additional information and updates about its operations in order to keep the registration current.
